We're grateful to have several outstanding drummers for our live music performances! Tim Thurber, the original drummer for the Stovetop Band, had to step down due to a demanding touring schedule with Country music star Trace Adkins. In his absence, our friends Mickey Gannon, Rob Lee, Rodney Edmonson, Angelique White, Steve Forrest, Ron Gerber, and John Vaughn each joined us for a show. Currently, Jack Payne and Rodney Edmonson are keeping the rhythm for our summer gigs at Rutherford County music events! WE LOVE THESE FOLKS!!!

The Stovetop Band, originally known as the Stovetop Rhythm & Blues Band, was formed to perform at a single live music event. Mark Seekamp, who had been a truck driver at Batesville Casket Company for several years, saw an opportunity during the company's annual Safety Awards Banquet, which celebrated the achievements of its drivers. With 2023 proving to be an especially safe year for the Batesville drivers, Mark sought permission to bring a band for the banquet. After getting the green light, he reached out to his musician friends to check their interest in the gig. Tim Lowery eagerly joined, soon followed by Bill Lenk. With Tim's versatility playing both bass and lead guitar, assembling the rest of the band felt manageable—or so Mark believed. After some searching, he found Ray Martin through a neighbor's recommendation, who then suggested Tim Thurber on drums. This led to a lively group of musicians who shared a passion for music and enjoyed each other's company.
The band rehearsed twice, and on Saturday, January 13, 2024, the Stovetop Rhythm & Blues Band took the stage for their first live music performance, entertaining an audience of truck drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and managers at the Driver's Safety Awards Banquet for Batesville Casket Company. What turned into more of a jam session was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience, and most importantly, the band members had an absolute blast playing music together! It’s a rare pleasure to find such talented musicians whose personalities align so well, prompting the band to feel they had something special. After discussing their chemistry, they decided to continue playing together and start booking outside gigs. Mark took the lead on booking since he was the one who brought everyone together. Although it took nearly six months, the band finally performed their first gig, followed by six more live music performances throughout 2024 before taking a break in December.
The year 2025 marked a breakout year for the Stovetop Band as they played over thirty live music performances across Rutherford County and Nashville! The name change reflected their diverse repertoire, which now includes Classic rock, Blues, Motown, R&B, Country, Southern Rock, Pop Rock, and Line Dance Tunes.
